The originality of this book lies in its identifying the main cause for the loss of faith by the children of convinced Christian parents. It is the absence of any specific structured invitation to belief, in the ordinary programme of the mainstream Churches. Children in Christian families do not acquire faith like their parents' nationality. Yet most Churches act as if it comes that way. Outsiders too are presented with no straightforward point of entry into those communities. This book traces the origin of that debilitating situation, and offers a remedy which is nothing less than the radical re-structuring of the Churches' institutions. In this context the ideological content of Christianity is explained covering every aspect, such as the inspiration of the bible, the sacramental system, Christian morality and personal immortality.
