A songbook to support the teaching of phonics through songs, chants and
games, ideal for use alongside Letters and Sounds phases 4, 5 and 6.
Continues the work of the successful Singing Phonics and Singing Phonics 2.

Singing Phonics 3 is the third in the successful Singing Phonics song collection designed to support phonics teaching and enrich young children's experience of language in a fun and interactive way. It
follows Singing Phonics and Singing Phonics 2, and is ideal for use with phases 4, 5 and 6 of the
'Letters and Sounds' phonics programme, published by the Primary National Strategy. It is a highly useful addition to any phonics scheme.

Each song or chant is accompanied by a set of activities (including photocopiable resources) and ideas for further development. The pack includes a CD with sample performances. Many songs have familiar tunes, making Singing Phonics 3 a highly user-friendly resource with no music reading required.

Not quite as I expected. It says on the cover suitable for teaching Phase 5, so I expected songs featuring the different phonemes from Phase 5. Instead, the book just seems to be a random selection of songs. Yes, the children like them, but I can't just choose a song with /ee/ or /oi/ as I expected!

Lots of songs and activities. My children love learning them and discussing the sounds within them! A very good buy!

I saw this book promoted at a phonics course I was on. As it's meant to support phase 5, I guess I expected to see songs which you could maybe also use as phoneme spotters for alternative spellings. It's got some nice tracks in it and has some suggestions of games you can play after learning the song which are linked to the Letters and Sounds games, but just not what I expected.
