In 1942, Seventeen-year-old Dídac is sent to Auschwitz-Birkenau during the Holocaust where he meets Henri, an SS German Soldier. To keep from losing his mind, Dídac writes letters to a stranger, someone he's never met and who doesn't know the truth about the concentration camps.

Once I started to read this book I found it difficult to put it down. I think it is a very sad and romantic love story which tugs on the heart strings. I think the book is well written and I love the characters Didac and Henri. The ending is hard-going and the books ends before you know it. I enjoyed reading this book and this review doesn't go far enough in giving the book justice. It is a great book and definitely worth a read. I hope someday this book will be made into a film.
